Bryan H
Hi all, All I want to do is print a very basic chord chart for a guitarist from a solo midi piano track from my sequencer. Could anyone point me toward the right software to accomplish this please. Thanks in advance bryan H
Eric VB
Eh? There's software that does such a thing? If you know the chord progression I'd think it'd be easier to use the old pen-and-paper "computer". G7 / / / | C7 / / / | etc.
Fulc
You could be a bit more specific, there. Are you looking to print tab, or standard notation? If you're just looking to do the progression, then personally I would follow Ric's advice and be done with it. The Womb
BillWelcome Home Studios
Most everyone uses Finale. I think that Cakewalk alos has either a component within Sonar to do this, or it is a part of one of their Guitar products. (Guitar Studio?) Eric VB
Ok, after reading Bill's suggestion I googled Finale ( it\'s here ), then came back here and searched fot it. The hits I got here are: here here and here Of the Finale products, it appears the SongWriter version is the least expensive ($49.95) that will do what you need: accept real-time MIDI and print out chord charts. Still ... if you play a single note, how does the software figure out what "chord" you're playing? I'm guessing you still have to add the chord symbols manually. Fulc
If you're playing a single note, you're not playing a chord. QED. You might however be implying a chord, or more correctly a tonality, depending on that single note's context in relation to the notes beford and/or after it. You could make a MIDI track with the chords in it-- no one is saying you need to actually print that track to disk or tape, you're just using it to delineate the progression. Oh. Before you go spending your dosh, why not try Finale Notepad to see if it meets your needs? Free to your pockets. The Womb

yidneth
i am not sure what you mean exactly but for scoring i'm using the editor included in cubase itself, i think it's very intuitive and easy to use, and also you can make guitar tablatures in it, i used finale earlier on and it was usefull too Priscilla Hernández http://www.yidneth.com/images/promo/donation_banner.jpg
