AngusPodgorny
Hello, All!!! http://www.sonicmayhemstudio.com/audio/ifyou.mp3 Last night, I mixed this song, and I think I'm done; but I'm not SURE yet. Any advice on how to take it up a notch or two would be greatly appreciated. I did some "mastering" with PSP Vintagewarmer. It's not great, but I figure it'll do, 'til it can be sent to a REAL mastering engineer. Thanks for the help, -Angus Happiness is like wetting your pants. ernest828
Angus, I don`t care for the song but this is a great mix! I`d put the vocal up 1-2db. This isn`t much but just enough so I don`t have to really try to hear every word. The drums are great sounding especially the stereo field. Guitars and bass are very nice and take up just enough space. I`m very impressed. I`d boast the guitar solo up another db or 2 (just like the vocal). What gear did you use? Board? Outboard? etc... Peace, Ernest

Post wherever you want, it's a free world. definitely get that vocal more out front, I'm struggling to understand the lyrical content. Is the drummer a lefty? If not, I'd prefer a more traditional audience perspective of drum panning, but that's just a personal thing. Excellent job otherwise. Hope this is helpful. Franknputer
Hey man - I was just reiterating the protocol that the majority of people here seem to want observed. If you have a problem with it, it's not with me - take it up with the group.

AngusPodgorny
Okay... Sorry to break protocol, but I'm posting here, instead of the other thread. Thanks for the positive feedback! The song was recorded at 24/48 with an ST Audio C-Port, into Steinberg Nuendo. The I used a crappy 16-channel Crate mixer to record the drums (8 channels; kick, snare, toms 1-4, OH L&R), and a PreSonus bluetube for all overdubs. Kick - Radioshack dynamic instrument mic Snare - SM57 Hi tom - another Radioshack mid toms 1 and 2 - SM58's with no windscreens low tom - Sennheiser E602 OH's were C414's Bass was DI Guitar was SM57 Vocals - C414 I have Alesis Monitor 1's I think that about covers it! -Angus Happiness is like wetting your pants.
