gmd
I've noticed a lot of fellow Beatle fans on this forum. (LeeFlier, DC, Fantasticsound, etc.)I wanted to turn all of you on to the best Beatle sound-alike band ever, "1964". These guys are touring now, and if you haven't seen them, you are really missing a great show. They have the whole'64-'66 live show down, even to the look and between song banter! They have a website, which off-hand I don't know the address of, but I'm sure could be found easily by using Google or any of the other search engines. On their site they usually list their tour schedule, several months in advance of dates. If they are coming anywhere near where you live, don't miss them. The first time I saw them, I felt like I had been transported back to a mid-sixties Beatle's show---they are that good! I've seen them several times since, and they always kill me. Check them out if you get the chance... :D

Wewus432
There's some local guys here called The SpongeTones that made a regional name doing Beatles and Beatles era music and they've written some original stuff in that vein. Sony released one of their CDs in Japan, never heard how it did. The lead SpongeTone is a guy named Jamie Hoover who's owns a recording studio and does a lot of independent production. I think the Tones still gig a bit but they all have other projects I'm sure.
Chip McDonald
No, I don't like beetles. Hate them, in fact. Thanks a lot, Coaster, for totally making my skin crawl. Tedster
Well, the first picture is a cicada skin. Cicadas shed their skin shortly after they come out of the ground...and leave the old one on a tree. We used to collect 'em off of trees and stick 'em on our shirt when we were kids. alcohol
Remember the band Boston? The lead singer of Boston, Brad Delp, now heads a Beatles tribute band called "Beatlejuice." A great show! We just saw them last March (my sweetie got us tickets for one of my X-mass presents). The Paul guy had a terrible sore throat so it was a very different show as the John and George guys did a lot more than usual. They do actually look a lot like the real guys except for the John guy who looks like Peter Noone to me. So you've got the Beatles plus Herman from the Hermits. Still a great show, lots of fun and absolutely authentic instruments, drums and amps. -David http://www.garageband.com/artist/MichaelangelosMuse
fantasticsound
1964 has played in Nashville, and I've missed 'em by a week, twice! When we lived in Chicago, my wife turned me on to Beatlefest. I'd jam with other Beatle fans outside the sales area. That was my favorite part. Unfortunately, the only recordings I have of these jams is on microcassette! :freak: They always had a decent Battle-of-the-Beatle-cover-bands in the main room, with a concert level sound system. Haven't been to it in almost a decade, though. It's easiest to find me on Facebook. Neil Bergman Soundclick fntstcsnd
gmd
Hey DC----You're right! The guy in 1964 who plays the "John" part does look like Peter Noone! He has the John mannerisms and voice down perfectly though, don't you think? Seriously, I have no connection to the band, I just think they do a great job at re-creating what a mid-sixties Beatle show must have been like. Obviously most of us never got to see one, and those that did probably couldn't hear for all the girls screaming! :D
