djdmduke
I am a SONAR 1.3 user (2.0 still sealed for now)and I am wondering if CD Data is a suitable sub for Zip and Jaz...thanks in advance... No matter where you go, there you are... Anderton
Well of course, you can't record to it in real time, but Zip/Jazs aren't best for that either. For backup, I'd take the CD any time: more capacity than Zip, much less expensive than either Zip or Jaz. BUT burn a few copies on different media just to be 100% sure. Dak Lander
What Craig said, depending on whether you want the cd to be like a removable disk or not. I've had little luck with the Read/Write aspects of my burners. I've used both Nero & Adaptec & lose the data in a heartbeat. I've taken to the regular burn scenario. Philip OKeefe
I'd never bother with Jaz or Zip these days. Too expensive when compared to tracking to a computer hard disk and then backing up to CD-R's or CD-RW's. The only thing I'd add to Craig's comments is "get a fast CD-RW drive" - Plextors are always nice. :)
djdmduke
Thanks a lot for all the suggestions, but, with that in mind I've got a little problem in the form of access being denied to me for saving data to the cd...I've burned actual audio but when I try to save in E:/(my cd location) it says no can do and that I need administrator permission or something or the other...any suggestions Craig, or anyone else... :freak: No matter where you go, there you are... Matt.Hepworth
Are you using a dell optiplex? With most programs it is not as easy as drag and drop over the drive you want. You should try demos of some software like adaptec easy cd creator or NTI Cd Maker and make a data cd. If you're using an optiplex, you'll need to disable the password by moving the jumper on your motherboard. If you really want to drag 'n drop you'll need "direct cd" software. luck. No matter how good something is, there will always be someone blasting away on a forum somewhere about how much they hate it.
