death of Taliban

Recommended Posts

Taliban is now dead. he phoned me earlier today informing me of his departure for another world. i think if you read taliban's posts again one may find the hostile responses as being very bigot-like in nature. one should judge based upon more than names alone, no? p.s. what makes curve dominant think i would send my real band picture? go milk a cow buddy!

yeah, no big thing, coaster. just be yourself. but...
do you mean the responses to your posts? posted as taliban? in my opinion, posting as taliban was kind of stupid- if you had posted as "satan" we would kind of get where you were coming from, but "taliban" will do nothing but bring out hate in even the most spiritually or politically enlightened person. if you follow it up with intelligent opinions, or even play devil's advocate and know what you are talking about, it might go over. so, dude, keep doing your thing and choose your joke-handle more wisely next time. and you better not have a mullet.

Coaster my man. Kudus to you. The fact that you're still up there in that cold freakin' country and still have a sense of humor is amazing. That's taking into account your young age too (compared to mine). I was pissed about everything when I left NoDak. It ain't so bad now. You keep on being Coaster & you'll keep on having the friends that really matter. I'm not so egotisical as to think I'm in that group but someday, who knows...eh? This is probably going to get me flamed but I really don't give a damn. First off, I don't know and don't care what personal problems you two have between one another. What ever it is, should be addressed some ohter place than out here on this forum. I don't know who, or really care, what curve dominant is, or is about. He has opinions & I respect that. It would be, and is, reasonable to expect the same respect from him. I personally don't have any problems with the curve, at least unless he takes offense to this, then it's up to him. The same thing goes for you, I don't know you, or really care, who, or what you are about. You have your opinions & I respect that too. I would expect the same from you and don't have problems either, unless you decide there must be... The egotistical arrogance that is on so many other forums I've visited is not normally here on this one. I'm hoping that the two of you can bury the hatchet, (not in each others backs) and get on with what's really important in life. You guys should be mature enough to figure it out. If not, send me an email & I'll explain it to you, from my perspective, of course. ;) Peace Brahs...

Lampoon the bad guy. Like I said in another thread...it's like Werner Klemperer and John Banner, two Jewish actors...lampooning Nazis in "Hogan's Heroes", or the Three Stooges (also Jewish) dressing up as mock Hitlers in some of their film shorts. Or the silly version of Saddam Hussein in the "Hot Shots" movie. Lampoon the bad guys.

Yeah, all Taliban ever did was crack me up. I never once took him seriously. He was a goofy parody and I laughed every time he posted. I'm with Tedster. uhhh well...I'm not actually with Tedster. I've...uhhh...never even met him...personally,that is. I don't even know where he lives! Hey,I'm married you know. I would never...not that there's anything wrong with that. Oh Hell. later, Mike

Hey Coaster! Why is it that all us assholes from ND have to wear glasses at a pretty young age? Could it be that damned blinding snow we're lookin' at so many months of the year?

Coaster, your photos brought back some memories (I'd lived in Grand Forks for three years). Ever meet Jamie and the Wiseguise up around GF? I played with them for a bit. Snow is a lot more fun when it slopes downward and you can ski on it :D :D

well, this looks like another "al capone's vault" situation. a few of you may know me as a top-five journalist, but i may have failed again. i can't find any pictures of this "Curve" you guys are talking about. he may have named himself after a painting by Kandinski: Kandinski's Dominant Curve oh wait, i found something... Of course, it's technically "thievery" to have 'em, but, once, we were playing at a little club in Michigan, the owner took us out back to the garage, and said "I've got something for you guys if you want 'em. I've been calling the dairy for the last three months to come and pick these up, and so far they haven't. So if you want 'em, they're yours." There was a hyoooge pile of musicians' gold...MILK CRATES. Probably about 30 of 'em. Maybe more. Of course, we backed the truck up and filled it to the brim. :D

Geraldo, Thanks for saving me the trouble. I haven't had time to master this pic posting thing yet. Some of us actually spend time producing music. First coaster demands I post my music, now he demands to see what I look like. If my arrogance pisses you off so much, why do you go ahead and encourage it with all of this attention? Yes, the tag comes from the Vasily Kandinsky painting, c. 1926. Kandinsky taught at the original Bauhaus school before the Nazis closed it (too decadent). The "friend" to my right is Sue, a local jazz pianist, professional model, and one-time collaborator. That picture was taken by Jaime De Jesus, on a perfectly gorgeous day at Penn's Landing, just 3 blocks from the apartment Sue and I shared in the historic Smythe Stores building (built in 1847) in the Old City district, and I think it was for a Fringe Festival promo for the City Paper. Is your craving for biographical information on The Curve satisfied yet? No? OK...see (and hear) my current collaborator, and a mug shot of The Curve... Hey Ted, I just finished listening to your Fly ... umm ... errrr, there must be a better way to phrase that. Nevermind, I'm liking it. Checking out I Will Wait For You as well. Nice acoustic based stuff. I could listen to this for hours. For anyone curious, I have some MP3s of various bands that I've been in. Have a listen at: http://www.angelfire.com/freak/rob/ -- Rob
