Hey 'rold - Studio/BnB

Where are you building this? I would love to check it out (before or after you are in business). Please say it is at Whistler!!!! I'm from Vancouver originally and we still go up there at least once a year. Last year we were in Whistler (Alpine Village) for a week with all my family (6 kids under 3 - Aiyaaaaa).

Hey man, thanks for asking.. :) I only WISH we could afford a property in Whistler; the cheapest property there is over a million CDN  We're at roughly the same latitude, though we're on the coast where Whistler's inland. We're on an acre here with the pacific beach roughly 200 feet away from the front door.. The town we live in is a small hippy town called Roberts Creek, situated on the Sunshine Coast, a 40-minute ferry ride from Horseshoe Bay, just north of West Van. Travel time from here to Whistler would be roughly an hour and fifteen minutes (40 minute ferry ride and the rest driving..) So you're from Van. originally...how come you moved? Peace, Harold.. :)

Hi 'rold. God the sunshine coast is beatiful. I used to do a bit of scuba diving up in Pender Harbour. That was back when the area was so bountiful that you didn't feel guilty about "harvesting" a bucket of rock scallops and a few crabs and spearing a lingcod. You are right about Whistler property values. $1M CDN would get you a 1/2 or 1/3 share of a condo up there. I lived in the Vancouver area for about 20 years, graduated from Maple Ridge HS. My wife and I moved down to SF so that she could do her PhD at UCSF. That was 7 years ago. We keep saying we want to come back to BC, but so far it hasn't worked out. Academic positions are sometimes hard to find, and in my wife's field (health services research) UBC is really the only option in BC. Good luck with the Studio/BnB.
