Dunno about the history, but I'd imagine you can find a lot of what your looking for here . Sonar 2 is now shipping. I should have my copy in the mail any day now. Woo-hoo! :D

Yes, I bought Sonar 1 when it first came out last year. It's been a rock ever since version 1.3 and when I bought good hardware to go along with it. I should get the upgrade today, hopefully. I'll let everyone here know how it works once I have a chance to play with it! Cakewalk is pretty religious about putting out upgrades every year, so yes, it can get expensive if you buy each one.
Originally posted by LatinMusic: What versions were launched the last year?
I think Sonar 1, Home Studio 2002, Plasma (the plug-in that comes with it rocks, BTW), Guitar Studio 2, etc were all released this year.
Originally posted by techristian: I'm using Cakewalk Pro Audio Version 8. It has an automatic COOL EDIT pulldown under 'TOOLS'. When I tried the Sonar 1.3 TRIAL the pulldown was missing. Is COOL EDIT in the 'tools' pulldown on the OFFICIAL 1.3 release? Dan http://musicinit.com/pvideos.html
It works with the full version for sure. Try reinstalling Cool Edit Pro to see if that tricks the demo into seeing it.
