Meriphew_dup1
That's too bad. He's one of the few people I can listen to playing country music. _____________________ Post indie electronic Meriphew www.meriphew.com www.meriphew.com

Dak Lander
"F" with the bull & yer gonna get the horn... It's good he wasn't stomped in the abdomen. During round up one year we were doing the sales separation, inoculations, de-horning, tagging, notching, casterating & all. We had one young bull that we were going to keep, just b,t & i. Well, he had a problem with wanting to go into the chute so I smacked him in the ass. The SOB kicked me under the chin, knocked me into a complete backwards loop & I damned near bit my tongue off. Bled like a stuck pig & it hurt like hell but I got up, twisted that SOB's tail up like a corkscrew & got his ass in the clamp. On top of all that, he shit all over me. I was 12 or 13 years old & got my first beer after work was done for being a man about it. I still have neck problems from that but man, I'd go through it all again. Ole Lyle may have gotten his ass whooped that time but you can bet your sweet ass he'll not back down from the next one. He will have a hitch in his getalong though... gtrmac
Hey, that article says his uncle is Calvin Klein. So you got a singer and an underwear designer fooling around with bulls, no wonder somebody got hurt! Seriously though I hope he recovers soon. Calvin too. Mac Bowne G-Clef Acoustics Ltd. coolhouse
What doesn't come across is how much raw courage his actions took. Lyle is afraid of cows. I've met him a couple of times and have several close friends that were in his original band. He is one of the finest singer/songwriters around. Here's hoping his leg heals alright. later, Mike
Dak Lander
Originally posted by Tedster: Hey, Dak, didn't know you were such a cowboy. Coolness.
That's why I'm out here in LoCal now a days. That's one tough job. An update from AP: Via The Austin American-Statesman Lovett underwent surgery on his lower right leg to reconstruct the bone, which was broken in several places, said Memorial Hermann Hospital spokeswoman Beth Sartori. She said Lovett was in good condition. Dr. Kevin Coupe, who performed the surgery, said Lovett may remain in the hospital for three days and a full recovery may take at least six months. Coupe told the Houston Chronicle in Thursday's editions that 20 pieces of bone were broken in Lovett's leg, including nine major bone fragments that had to be put back together. Klein, no relation to the designer, was taken to Tomball Regional and later released. Our Joint "When you come slam bang up against trouble, it never looks half as bad if you face up to it." Dwarf
I almost cried when I saw that news story today. Lyle is one of my favourite country singers, and probably the most authentic of the lot. Like everyone else here I hope he recovers fast and well. -- Rob I have the mind of a criminal genius.....I keep it in the freezer next to mother. Dan South
Despite the extensive injuries, Mr. Lovett is a lucky man. He could very easily have been killed or paralyzed. The Black Knight always triumphs!
