not coaster MODERATOR
I did a double take cuz I saw a brand new Sam Ash next to Carvin/across from GC. It's just a mile or so away from their main store on Sunset Blvd. Any of you local yokals checked it out yet? And why the redundancy?
soapbox
My Sam Ash rep told me last week that the new location is going to be their "pro" store here in LA. Until now, certain products had to be special ordered by local Sam Ash stores from the pro store in New York, causing delays for customers in LA. This should solve that problem. I was also told that the reason the store is located near the Hollywood Guitar Center is to help solidify that area as a tourist destination. The new Sam Ash will therefore have star autographed photos displayed, as well as other touristy items similar to Guitar Center's Rock Walk of Fame. I believe that a Manny's will be built in that area as well. Enthusiasm powers the world. Craig Anderton's Archiving Article
Stephen Fortner
I've browsed and hung out in that new store a bit. Really nice people, and pretty much every DAW and hardware synth you could want to play with is fully set up. There are no guitars, drums, etc... they're down the Blvd to the west. This is the only "big retailer" I've been in where I can even begin to really A-B things. The somewhat more famous store just across the street is an absolute zoo by comparison.
