Bonedog
Hello Era, Welcome aboard! Unfortunately there's no option currently available to do this with the 4416. Who knows what the future will bring.... Scott http://www.gearboxmusic.com
Bubbajazz
Welcome, era. There is a new MY card out for mLAN. The spec, as near as I can tell, is FireWire. The card allows for transfer of audio and MIDI data. However, it is expensive - $500+ - and limited. The interface is not direct. There's a biz op for someone who knows their code to develop a program that will let a PC directly interface, but I'm not aware of anything that exists right now. Welcome to the community. It's a great place for advice and info.
Dan South
You don't need a monitor for the AW4416. The screen, the dedicated meter bridge, the moving faders, and the zillions of lights on the front panel will keep you very well informed. I've never once felt any eyestrain with the unit, and I'm quite nearsighted. BUT... ...do yourself a favor and hook up a mouse. The mouse makes many operations MUCH easier (not just a little bit). The Black Knight always triumphs!

Philip OKeefe
Hi Era, and welcome. First of all, Dan's correct - get a mouse... it makes operation faster. And if you have not already done so (or if your AW didn't compe with it pre-installed), download the 2.0 OS upgrade (free) from http://www.aw4416.com I also agree with Bonedog - there's no "direct" monitor port for the AW4416, like the one available for the Roland VS2480. The mLan card won't give you that either. It is just a firewire interface for the AW that carries 8 channels of audio I/O along with MIDI I/O on a single firewire cable. There IS some new templates available on the www.aw4416.com for controlling DAW software from the AW4416's faders and vice versa. There's also templates for hardware mixers such as the 03D and 01V. The DAW software templates that are currently available: Sonar, Logic and Cuebase... a little bird over at Yamaha tells me that Pro Tools and nuendo support are on the way too.
