Cant say i have heard anything about him...

i had a bit of a listen to the soundbytes on the site...

As Australian musicians go.. i woudnt say he is the best example of what we have to offer.

The Aussie music scene is very rich and has some great bands, musicians and artists. I woudnt even know where to start in suggesting some for you... great ones coming to mind are:

John Butler Trio

Missy Higgins

The Dissociatives (Featuring Silverchair\'s Daniel Johns)

Eskimo Joe

Diesel (Johnny Diesel aka Mark Lizotte)

... there are plenty more...

Thanks Keysking,

He got some pretty high accolades on JPF so I thought I'd inquire here.

I'll look at that list. I've heard Eskimo Joe and Diesel, not the others. Nursers has fired off some artist's names too.

Our Joint

John Butler is an american who has moved to aussieland - he's our biggest act at the moment and totally independent. He now has is own label.

Missy Higgins is another independent who is now signed to the same label as Silverchair. She is one of the new genre aussies who sing in an aussie accent.

I've never heard of John Harley Weston even though I only live a few miles from him.

cheers

john

Sorry don't know this guy either Dak.

IMO other gods down here are, in order of godliness:

1. Paul Kelly

2. The Triffids - 'Born Sandy Devotional' is one of the best albums I've listened to in my lifetime.

3. David Bridie / My Friend the Chocolate Cake
