Base: Cheap fares to Bristol?

Recommended Posts

Base

I have been trying for days to try and sort out a one way tix to Weston Super Mare to pick up the car and Petes going tomorrow after waork but where the hell can I get cheap train or coach tix?

I have already tried National express but they are reasonable at £17.80 single but it takes up to 5 hours to get there! :ekk:

First Great Wetern trains cost £30 odd quid to get there single and take 2 hours.

What can I do, any suggestions Base?

We took the train (First Great Western). Great journey. Don't think you'd get there much faster than that. Heck, if you were to book a flight, the actual flying time might be less, perhaps 45 minutes or less, but when you count check in time, security time, possibly waiting for a delayed flight and all, it'd be easily the same or longer.

30 pounds one way? Really, only 12 pounds more than (what's National, a bus line?) that.

This is National Express , it says 2.5 hours and starts from £6 (I put in Central London to Bristol, single, anytime tomorrow). It might be more in the peak hours, but still, £30 is ridiculous?!?!

I do Fly :D Just that I have light sensitive eyes and cant see to well in the dark and light hurts my eyes in the days so most of the time I wear sunglasses... I have funny eyes so see not to well in most cases.

Base, where are the stops in Bristol shown on this page? Are they anywhere near the stations where Peter can jump onto a coach for WSM or does he have to travel miles to get a connecting coach?

He shouldn't have any trouble getting to the bus station or the train station. Dn't suppose the guy selling the new car could meet you in Bristol could he??

Beware the vicious Chicken of Bristol - you may want to take Sir Robin with you.

I used to think I was Libertarian. Until I saw their platform; now I know I'm no more Libertarian than I am RepubliCrat or neoCON or Liberal or Socialist.

This ain't no track meet; this is football.

Peter is coming up tonihgt to get the car but I I dont know what he will be doing as I dont know wheter hes meeting the guy with the car in Bristol or wheter hes travelling to WSM. If you have a number I can get him to call on, that would be great but please don't take anytime out to meet him if your busy.

Hes going to be trying to get the coach from London Victoria on the 20:00 coach arriving at Marlbourough Road Station Bristol 22:20 and it will take 2hrs 20min to get there from London.
