So I fired up my Kronos last night and received the warning below, but made it through the gig without incident. I didn’t even know it had a clock battery. Do I need to replace it? Would this be a major operation? What happens if I don’t replace it? Anything else I should be concerned about? I think that covers all of my annoying questions.

I haven’t received this warning yet, but it looks like an easy fix. Standard key fob battery.

The Kurzweil PC3 has a CR2032 battery to run the clock.  I've had the keyboard 14 years and have replaced the battery twice, the last time about 1 month ago. Unlike the kronos i get no warning, when it goes it goes and how i know is because when the keyboard is turned on it will restart the clock from 00:00. The battery on the PC3 serves no purpose other than time stamping the files when you do a file save.  User data is stored on an eprom.  I imagine that the kronos is exactly the same.  Unless you need to date/time stamp files my guess is that you are not in danger of losing anything.  The pc3's battery is located under the keyboard in the access panel. Takes less than 5 minutes to change the battery, just ensure you observe the position of the battery so that the positive is hooked up correctly (and reset the date/time after installation).
