JoJoB3
I'm so sorry to be of the clan of humans that can't claim ELPs Tarkus to be much of a favorite (it's kind of annoying actually. I'll look within) but I will soundly confirm that witnessing another talented human re-creating and performing it live to be genuinely and wonderfully fascinating. Salute to Ms. Flowers!
matted stump
Good on ya Rachel. I was introduced to Tarkus in a 1200 seat opera house on ELP's first American tour. The album wasn't even out yet, but Carl's kick drum head had the image of the eponymous armored armadillo. It blew my little high school mind. 2 1 1 Quote Moe ---
Moonglow
She seems to truly channel Keith, all of the subtle nuances, inflections, phrasing, dynamics, etc. Otherworldly. 4 Quote "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing." - George Bernard Shaw

I'm glad she got to meet Keith and hobnob for a while. You know he had to be dazzled at her skills. I can only imagine what its like to be blind and totally live in his musical world part of the time. Likewise, it must be both haunting and elating to play his organ and Moog again. I felt some of that just hearing her. 1 Quote I just emptied out my swear jar and bought a CS-80. Cussing really pays off!

Old No7
OK team... Now that we've seen Rachel play Tarkus on a synth & organ keybed... ...Let's see her do it on weighted piano keys!!!
