zxcvbnm098
I remember buying the 45 of "Go All The Way" in 8th grade. What an amazing power-pop gem. That song still is like a time machine for me, immediately taking me back to junior high when I hear it to this day. Very sorry to hear of his passing, as well as Karl Wallinger who also passed away....:( AM Radio was so wonderful and diverse in the early to mid 70's.. ....
Adan
All By Myself feels like it's at the core of the golden age of popular music on AM radio. I sat down and played it this morning, what an exquisitely crafted tune. 1 Quote Gigging: Crumar Mojo 61, Hammond SKPro Home: Vintage Vibe
allan_evett
This one is rough... I've been a big fan since the mid 1970s. So many memories - from the Raspberries, "Go All The Way" to Eric's string of hits in the 80s. I remember wearing out the cassette copy of his album, 'Boats Against the Current'; lots of road time with that one in the car stereo. A song from that album is likely my favorite from Eric's catalog: "Love Is All That Matters". I've played that one for several weddings - for accompanying vocalists, and playing it as a background instrumental piece. Rest in Peace, Eric Carmen. It was an honor to play your songs. SteveCoscia
RIP Eric Carmen. 1975 was a pivotal year and "All By Myself" was on the radio often. I related to that song much as I transitioned from teenager to twentysomething. Great tune, great singer and songwriter. The guitar player of the band I was in borrowed my 45 of "Tonight" and I never saw it again. He about drove his girlfriend crazy he played it so much. We were trying for the same sort of sound as Raspberries. Raspberries just did it so much better. RIP Eric.

Shamanzarek
I remember seeing the Raspberries on Don Kirshner in 1974. I was very impressed at the time by the orchestral sound the got using two ARP keyboards. They apparently replaced the Mellotrons with the ARP's by 1974.
