Gotoh Tremolo Arm Part

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Could someone please tell me the name of the part that holds the tremolo arm to the guitar body?  I need to get a replacement part but can’t locate/ Identify it.  It is like a screw/nut that goes over the arm and holds the arm in place.  Thank you.

Good morning, @JamesInPA . . .

Not sure if this is what you're looking for, but it was the closest thing that came up in my search. Floyd Rose Trem Arm coupler

Depending on the year & model of your particular Tremolo*, you might need to order a complete Trem Arm with the attached coupler, but they seem to run right around, or under $20.

*At one point, Floyd Rose threatened pretty much anyone and everyone who'd designed a similar Tremolo system with lawsuits, such that you'll see a lot of Tremolo rigs that say "Licensed by Floyd Rose . . ." or words to that effect, but that covers a lot of different sources.

A Gotoh part will be metric.

You should be able to contact a dealer that sells Gotoh products and get the part you need. I'd start with Stewart Macdonald, they've always been a great company to work with and have reasonable prices/fast shipping.

I am not sure where the original Floyd Rose is manufactured now but it used to be made in the USA long ago and not be metric.

I met Floyd Rose at NAMM in Anaheim when the Floyd Rose system was being introduced to the world.

I made good money retro-installing Floyds before guitar companies started making Floyd-equipped guitars.

I imagine by now the patents have expired and companies can just make Floyd equipped guitars.

I installed quite a few Kahler whammy bars too, I hated those - they suck all the tone out of a guitar.

It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is.
