bourniplus
Hi guys, my wife is starting her podcast and would like to be able to mix the audio of her voice with a bit of music at the beginning and at the end. So, basically I'm looking for a two-track mixer that can do fade-out and fade-in. I think most DAWs would be overkill. Do you have anything to recommend? Thanks in advance! Dave Bryce
Check out Audacity. It’s freeware. 😎 dB 1 Quote ==> David Bryce Music • Funky Young Monks <== Professional Affiliations: Royer Labs • Music Player Network
KuruPrionz
Audacity looks good. It's cross platform. Or, Waveform Free (also cross platform), just use the 2 tracks you want. You could delete the others or just ignore them. Very simple to set up for simple recording, very easy to drag audio in and very easy to adjust volume, including a way to automate volume control so the music could fade in and out. https://www.tracktion.com/products/waveform-free Bear in mind that with either of these you may want a one or two channel audio interface. Presonus and many others make them, not terribly expensive and they all sound good. There are others, including other free ones. So far, both are DAWS but you don't have to do a deep dive to work with them. f you are using a Mac you should already have Garage Band. If not, it's free. https://www.apple.com/mac/garageband/ I think it's worth spending a little time seeing what you like best. All of us have preferences and inclinations so some programs just seem easier to use than others, a personal decision worth making. 1 Quote It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is. Bill Heins
Wavelab by Steinberg has tools specifically for Podcasting. I use it as an audio editor and for mastering but it has much more to offer. It's not cheap but worth a look Bill 1 Quote http://www.billheins.com/ Hail Vibrania!
