Agile 2500, 2800, or 3000?

Recommended Posts

OK, I'm finally saving up for my first electric guitar to learn. Is there anyone here who has compared these different models. Is the 2800 worth the extra expense in your opinion? What about the 3000? Yea, I know we're not talking a huge difference in price but for this lil' ol' country boy every little bit makes a difference.

I think I'm settling on the Gold Top with P90s (only because I can't get it in black :D )

There is no way for me to play these guitars where I live so any comparisons of these will help.

Thanks, Gary

Hey Gary:

I have not tried them, but several people over on the guitar forum have raved about their high bang for the bucks ratio... you might want to ask over there.

I believe a lot of people have mentioned the following place as a dealer for them:

Good luck with your decision!

rondo here in jersey is the only dealer. basically, agile is their brand name. guitars are made in korea for them in either the tokai or dillion factory, not exactly sure. decent guitars, especially the gold les paul with p90's.

Got three Agile guitars. One is the 3000.

The main difference between the 2500/2800/3000...is the bells & whistles.

If you go to the www.rondomusic.com web site...you can read about these differences.

Otherwise...the basic body/neck quality is the same on all models.

I must say that my 3000 is real nice, and was worth the extra bucks...

...beautiful binding all the way around...real abalone fret markers...and better pickups.

But...the $199 Goldtop w/P90's...is a STEAL!!!

One of my other Agile guitars is their 2200 Double-Cut Jr...w/P90's...

...and I have to say that I love the sound of that guitar.

Not sure what brand P90's they are...but they sound great...ballsy, bluesy and a bit raw.

They can go toe-to-toe with a lot of humbuckers!!! :D

Good to hear, thanks (and thanks everyone for the input).

Miroslav, do you notice a difference in tone and/or sustain between the 2500 and 3000?

Don't have 2500 or 2800...just the 3000.

The other two I have are the 2200 Double Cut Jr...and a solid Ash "Strat" style.

I pretty sure the 2500/2800/3000 all use Mahogany bodies...then whatever veneer you get (most are maple)...but I believe the painted bodies are just solid Mahogany.

There are some Ash bodies in the 2800 line.

The necks are Mahogany on the 3000...but maple on the 2500...not sure about the 2800.

Go to the www.rondomusic.com web site and read the specs.

The sustain will vary from guitar to guitar...even if they are the same wood...cuz' one cut of wood may be denser than another.

My 3000 has good sustain. Of course, the hardware has affects sustain also. The 3000 also give you a real bone nut...while some of the others use graphite.

Any way you go...2500/2800/3000...you will get plenty guitar for the money.

You might also consider getting a case for it (they have the nice brown cases)...and they will put the guitar in the case and ship it that way...and only charge you one shipping price. :thu:
