I can't believe it took that long for someone to list MMW. Good call, funkjazz.

Anybody here ever heard of Ui? Cool stuff.

Two of my all-time favorite punk bands are trios, Nomeansno and Victims Family.

A band I saw three weeks ago: What The?!

A band I saw two weeks ago: The Bad Plus!

A band I'll see next week: Los Lonely Boys!

Bands I've never seen: Motorhead, Dash Rip Rock, Rush, and King's X

But the best trio band of all time is a double-trio: King Crimson of a few years back. Sorry Lee! :P

Oh yeah. I dunno how he gets it but I want it too! And I'm not even a bass player...
I will tell you the short cut...either an eight string or 12 string Hamer bass.

My 'cuz had an eight string, with a bit of tube grind, you nail that King's X tone.

There is no substitute.

I saw ZZ Top in the 70's right after the release of Tres Hombres. They were sooooo in control of the slaughter of all who dared to witness them. They turned on a dime. Loud, loud, loud... soft. All lights drop but one overhead spot on Billy Gibbons, cowboy hat casting a shadow down his face and him barely making a sound, just a little harmonic squak off his Les Paul and then...... Full volume, full lights! Whhhhaaaa! I was slayed beyond recovery. I'm missing 2 limbs from the experience.
