Christine McVie and Fleetwood Mac - :(

Recommended Posts

Oh no.....

When Fleetwood Mac regrouped with the classic mid-70s line-up some years back, Lisa and I went to see them at the newly-revamped Forum in Los Angeles. Not my favorite band, but I like Fleetwood Mac and all...but I was completely unprepared for how GREAT and CHARISMATIC they were. How much CHEMISTRY they had together. I saw a lot of bands, both in clubs as well as larger venues that year, but Fleetwood Mac was the best show that year, and still stands out as an amazing show when I am asked to think of who really impressed me.

She will be sorely missed. R.I.P. and thank you.

Wasn't she kind of the glue that held things together?

Pretty much. When Lindsay left they should have called it a day. I love Neil Finn and Mike Campbell, but that wasn't Fleetwood Mac on the last tour.

Lindsey didn't leave. He was forced out, mostly by Stevie Nicks.

Good point - leave is definitely the wrong word.

Her songs were among my favorite Fleetwood Mac songs. I liked her writing, singing, and keyboard playing.

RIP, and thanks for the music.

Christine had such a soulful voice - she wrote straightforward, heartfelt songs.  Without her, the band would have started to feel too showy, maybe even a bit frivolous or flaky.   I really admired her talent - and the crowds would hush and really listen to her.
