Often viewed as a 3rd rate version of the Scorpions and UFO (which they have a lot in common with), Accept was one of the biggest groups in hard rock in Germany in the Eighties. The group has a pretty obvious Judas Priest/Sabbath influence in their sound, and they are also known for their lead guitar attack played on Gibson Flying Vs.

Their debut album, Balls To The Wall, was released in 1983 on a CBS Records subsidiary, and stands as one of the biggest hard rock albums ever made. It got heavy airplay on MTV, and its thrashing arrangements saw Accept tour with the likes of Blue Oyster Cult, The Scorpions and Rush.

Their other big song, Midnight mover, was released in 1985. They still tour and record to this day, and still tour the nostalgia circuit with the likes of UFO and Heart.

If you like edgy, blues rock like metal, please let me know. Michael Schenker just got some pretty stiff competition.

Restless and Wild was my favorite album I think.  Balls to the Wall was okay.  The title track was good but I prefer the older albums.  I thought the German bands had the best rock tone.  I've wondered if it may have had something to do with German voltages.

PS ... I don't know ... Breaker was pretty good album too.

The first album didn't do much for me but it was 79.  The production wasn't great.  The style is different.  It's like comparing Priest's first album Rocka Rolla with the rest of their catalog.  (Well the production was better quality on Rocka Rolla but it wasn't Metal yet)

Starting with Accept's  I'm a Rebel they had figured out their sound.  And production got better.  I lost interest though after Udo left.

In 1989, I caught them live with Metal Church and W.A.S.P. in a small club called, "The Flaming Mug", in Fayetteville, NC. This was when I was stationed at Pope Air Force Base, NC. As you can imagine, this was a really great show! 🤘  Other acts I caught at The Flaming Mug were Bang Tango, George Thorogood, Metal Church- two more times, Savatage, Britny Fox, Steelheart, RTZ, BTO, Badlands, Kansas, Ugly Kid Joe, Animal Bag, and a few others I am likely forgetting.
