konaboy Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 Seems like an easy to use, versatile and fun softsynth! Looking forward to trying out. The original sounded great, but the poly was a turn off, just 4 notes iirc. Hopefully fixed now...? https://www.korg.com/uk/products/software/korg_collection/ 1 1 Quote hang out with me at woody piano shack
ElmerJFudd Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 I’m glad they continue to return to this collection and develop something because it would be pretty lame if we were just updating so the existing models continue to work on our current OS. Quote Yamaha CP88, Casio PX-560
Paul Woodward Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 99 dollars to upgrade from Collection 3 to get the three new ‘synths’. Wouldn’t mind playing with this but it adds Kaoss pad and Electribe. Neither of which I want. Mark Schmieder Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 I'm pretty insanely busy at work, so haven't looked at my personal email folder in several days, but did see the headline of one message and was wondering what the new synths would be. I'm going to guess the microKorg is for all practical purposes also somewhat of an emulation of the MS2000? ElmerJFudd Posted November 23, 2022 Posted November 23, 2022 Looks like microKORG, ELECTRIBE-R and the KAOSS Pad. Quote Yamaha CP88, Casio PX-560
bill5 Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 FYI/FWIW there are numerous good (IMO) free Korg emulations here: https://www.fullbucket.de/music/vst.html 1 Quote
CEB Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 I’m just surprised this was such a large seller. 1 Quote "It doesn't have to be difficult to be cool" - Mitch Towne "A great musician can bring tears to your eyes!!! So can a auto Mechanic." - Stokes Hunt
Justin Havu Posted November 26, 2022 Posted November 26, 2022 A portable and affordable way for a beginner to get into synthesizers. Also, a compact way to add VA to the palette, but with only 4 voices. I always used it as a monosynth. konaboy Posted November 27, 2022 Author Posted November 27, 2022 that was always the drawback for me, 4 poly and not multitimbral. no longer an issue in software. Quote hang out with me at woody piano shack
ElmerJFudd Posted November 27, 2022 Posted November 27, 2022 If you contemplated a Kronos but prefer a laptop rig with Korg’s synth engines. Roland finally figured this out with their Cloud as well. Yamaha has yet to imagine how their IP might sell without hardware. Quote Yamaha CP88, Casio PX-560
