Lordy be, feller just ain't right in the head is what. 🤣

Gonna have to watch it again when I have fast internet. Wi Fi hotspot on a cheap Android isn't cutting it.

It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is.

But hey, 100 points for amazing ingenuity.

I put that in the same category as the Floppotron ----->

Look on the bright side: he didn't attempt to do the Brandenburgs.

I actually thought Switched on Bach was pretty clever when it was first released! But society was quite primitive bach then :)

I wonder what their wives think about these contraptions?

Oh wait, they probably aren’t married 😄

High marks for creativity and skill.

Other than for YouTube content, seems like a big waste of time and money.

Gotta love Commodore 64 guy's smile.  He may not have been born when the Commodore 64 was street legal.  The Montage is amazing, good duct tape utility.

Brings back memories.

I think Linus is drop-dead funny with his meticulous, deadpan manner.  And he's absolutely brilliant in his explanations of the mechanisms and the science behind his quirky C64 musical inventions.  Check out his theremin video -- the best explanation of electrical capacitance I've ever heard or read.

Next month, I will be releasing Fastfingers 3 for C64 "The Ultimate Midi Sequencer" The video will be up in a month or 2 but to give you an idea.

A turnkey system on a cartridge and midi interface with MIDI OUT

With 528 built in PITCH sequences and 32 Velocity volume sequences...when combined over 16000 musical variations. Each bank of 16 sequences based on a single CHORD.

AND OF COURSE, END USERS CAN MAKE UP THEIR OWN AND SAVE TO DISKETTE OR SDCARD (with sdcard adapter from Jim Brain or other 3rd party manufacturer)

This sequence sends out to all channels at once , but because of variations of Velocity curves, certain instruments will "jump out" where others may be nearly mute.

Of course this will also play my  SID synth sounds as well at the same time.

My aim with the 6581 SID was never to use the 3 voices as INDEPENDENT voices making all of the popular game sounds, but rather combining all 3 voices to build a powerful lead synthesizer. I'll be getting a few SwinSid chips in the new year and finally will be able to hear these sounds as I intended them, without noise.

No, I'm not interested in making music with spinning motors. This a a real musical instrument to be used by DJs or in conjuction with a MIDI DAW.

Experimenting experimenting!!

So I bought a few SwinSid NANO chips from Germany for the C64. First off, they didn't work right out of the box. I found that PIN 26 and PIN 27 had to be shorted together to get it to work. Great clean sound with no unwanted noise or hum came from these chips! One problem though...OUT OF TUNE. So yesterday I had to create new pitch tables ! Now it sounds real good! THIS IS GOING TO BE ONE MEAN LEAD SYNTHESIZER !

For those of you that don't know, the SID chip 6581  (Sound Interface Device) is the sound chip of the C64. It is noisy and can have hum. The SWINSID is a modern alternative...as is the ARMSID.
