eric Posted October 30, 2022 Posted October 30, 2022 ...you post less and less on this forum, LOL!!! I've been part of this community for 20+ years and know so many of you personally as friends from various NAMM hangs and other gatherings. I've been feeling disconnected for a bit, as I find myself visiting the forum less often. Part of this is personal commitments like work and family stuff - my daughter got married last weekend, y'all! So happy! Part of this is also I have less "GAS" than I did in my earlier years, when someone had actually created a name for the acquisition or consideration of the acquisition being an "Eric Moment" - simply because I used to change out my gear and get new things all the time. These days, I've been using essentially the same type of live rig that is focused on a single keyboard (Nord Stage 2 or Nord Stage 3) with a Ventilator and quality mixer/DI (Key Largo or Radial KL-8). This rig just WORKS FOR ME and it has become so comfortable in a wide variety of use cases. I've kept playing my regular '80s/classic rock cover band, plus a few annual reunion shows with my touring band, plus a Clash tribute band, plus a nice assortment of impromptu gigs. For all these gigs, I'm able to make my simple rig work. At home, I still have my nice array of timeless gear like the Yamaha CP-80, Hammond A-101 plus Leslie 122, Roland JX-8P, etc. and I've found more interest in thinking about home gear rather than live gear. All of this to say - I love you all and I am looking for some new "Eric Moments" as we wrap up 2022 and head into 2023. Take care! 11 Quote
Morrissey Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 Thanks for checking in. We all wax and wane in our engagement in online communities. 1 Quote
Outkaster Posted October 31, 2022 Posted October 31, 2022 I know what you mean but I have known you since 2001 and you opinions are valuable. I love a message board so much better than Facebook for this type of thing. 3 Quote "Danny, ci manchi a tutti. La E-Street Band non e' la stessa senza di te. Riposa in pace, fratello" noblevibes.com
Jose EB5AGV Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 It feels awkward that I have had dozens of Eric moments during last five year's, without even knowing how they were called! Now I am relieved 😅 1 Quote
ProfD Posted November 4, 2022 Posted November 4, 2022 Brotha @eric, while I'm one of the fortunate folks to know you outside of KC, it's still great to read whenever you decide to drop in on the peanut gallery.🤣 In terms of GAS and gear, I know you're in a great space relating to it. When the KB rig simply works, it allows for more focus on the most important stuff...playing. Congrats in becoming a father-in-law. Only a matter of time before you will be passing those KB chops and GAS flare-ups down to the next generation.😁😎 2 Quote PD "The greatest thing you'll ever learn, is just to love and be loved in return."--E.
