16251 Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 I remember seeing in the news a few elderly billionaires who passed away recently and it gave me pause. All that money but can't fool death. Anyway, I read this tonight and thought of others that might like to leave something more than how much they were worth at their demise. https://www.nytimes.com/2022/09/14/climate/patagonia-climate-philanthropy-chouinard.html 1 1 Quote AvantGrand N2 | ES520 | Gallien-Krueger MK & MP | https://soundcloud.com/pete36251
Anderton Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Thanks for posting that. <<But Mr. Chouinard had no faith that Patagonia would be able to prioritize things like worker well-being and funding climate action as a public company.>> That lack of faith was well-founded. There's a lot of talk about "quiet quitting." But what's causing it is the "quiet fleecing," where worker productivity has made outrageous gains compared to worker compensation. Why bother working harder if you get nothing in return? KuruPrionz Posted September 15, 2022 Posted September 15, 2022 Great story, awesome family. Quote It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is.
