16251
I have heard about the tension between Miles and Red Garland and how it manifested itself fully during the Milestones album. I have read the story but I never really did listen until I discovered this video today. The one thing that sticks out to me was how proficient Red was at flawlessly playing it during the recording session. It has got to be a first take. Anyone think he had planned it and practiced before session or that this is what the great players can do; knowing other people's solos to the point that they can recall them anytime, effortlessly. 16251
After further reading abut this, Red learned this solo for one of his solo albums he did before the Miles date, but Red's album was not released until a few years after Milestones album. - Carry on. Bobadohshe
I never knew about this. Totally fascinating. That has to have pissed off Miles. 1 Quote Kawai C-60 Grand Piano : Hammond A-100 : Hammond SK2 : Yamaha CP4 : Yamaha Montage 7 : Moog Sub 37 My latest album: Funky organ, huge horn section https://bobbycressey.bandcamp.com/album/cali-native
