Gig Rig #2,356 (just to keep them guessing)

I have come to the realization that my Gig Rig for any particular show is a manifestation of my ADHD.

 

For tonight's show, I am still using the new Fantom -08, but I am throwing the Numa Compact 2X up top.   I am using it mostly as a controller, as I did with the Arturia Keylab and Fantom.

The Numa will be providing the Organ sounds I want/need.

 

The nice thing about the Fantom is it's easy setup, so I spent all of 10 minutes going thru the patches, and making sure the MIDI RX channel for the sounds played by the NUMA were on the proper channel.

Like many instruments, the Numa has some funky MIDI implementation.    If you want it to send on just one channel, it does it on Channel 16.   In it's default mode, it sends MIDI in Omni mode.

 

I've the Numa for awhile, but never really sat down to mess with it.

Any audio from the numa?  Is it routed through the Fantom?

I ended up not using it as a second board/controller. 
Apparently I haven’t figured out all the quirks of its midi implementation.  
 

Its controller functions are ideally designed to have parts played from an external board, while using it to change patches on the external.  
 

 

I’ve been studying the midi chart for it and will figure it out.   I basically wanted to use it for organ parts and controlling an occasion tone on the Fantom.  
 

It will not defeat me.  😂

 

I had my Keylab with me as well just for this scenario.
