What IS this stand?

Recommended Posts

This was posted on a local gear swap/sale FB page today. I asked what brand it is, and have received no reply. This seems more adjustable than most, and I've never seen anything quite like it.  I am currently not in the market for a stand, but wondering what in the heck this is!

Interesting design and features.

Reverb is listing a 3-tier version -- used in good condition (no, not mine...) for < $125 -- too bad it's in the UK though!

Correct it is a proel unit and they were shite...VERY bouncy, heavy and awkward to cart around. The tube metal (the square tube that the arms attach to) is quite soft and dents easily and shows ugly marks where the  screws tighten against it. I've still got the one (dual arms)  I bought years, probably near 2 decades ago, still leaning against the wall in the shed!

My view? it could probably stay exactly where it is hahaha!

There is no luck - luck is simply the confluence of circumstance and co-incidence...

I had something similar here in Aussie 20 or so years ago. But cant be sure... but i did see a photo of it the other day on my computer vy coincidence. I feel it was Proel?

Ill see if i can find it but it was 3 tier. The idea appealed to me but the keyboards always looked skewiff as all the parts were welded slightly skewiff. Nothing sat square.

Not saying this is the same. But it so reminds me of it.

Just from a physics standpoint, I wouldn't put a pencil on that thing if I cared about the pencil. Have you ever bumped into a lighting tripod? This looks like that, without the inconvenience of the thing you're breaking being less that $2k to replace. What a wobbly, top-heavy nightmare that thing's got to be.

Now out! "Mind the Gap," a 24-song album of new material.

Funny that you put it that way, Sam, because when I saw the ones with the long arms, I thought, "Danger Will Robinson!"

Maybe this is the best place for a shameless plug! Our now not-so-new new video at https://youtu.be/3ZRC3b4p4EI is a 40 minute adaptation of T. S. Eliot's "Prufrock" - check it out! And hopefully I'll have something new here this year. ;-)
