zxcvbnm098
I saw The Cars open for Styx here in LA at the Forum in October of 1978. I loved that first album, and my band at the time covered Just What I Needed and Best Friend's Girl. I also was using a MiniKorg at the time, so that was an added bonus given Greg Hawkes considerable use on that debut album. Like Tom Petty, The Cars came out an interesting time in music as Punk and New Wave were making headway in the US; both Tom and The Cars were considered kind of New Wave at the time, although they had more success than most bands of that ilk and got play on regular rock radio in a way that most New Wave bands did not. Although they sounded great at the Styx show, they were like watching paint dry. They just stood there played....zero interaction.
