wraub
Do you have one? As of recently, I do, and I get the hype. It sounds really good at lots of different tunings, the tone control knob really works, the drum is good for lots of different styles, and while not exactly the bargain it used to be, used they're not overly expensive and they are very plentiful. Mine is my metal snare along with my wood snare drum (Yamaha Tour Custom Maple) and while I may want another snare drum, I don't really need another. Do you have one, or want one? Or, dislike/not want one? Let's talk. Quote I'm a lot more like I am now than I was when I got here.
RABid
It is one my "buy someday" list, but after collecting 7 snares I've paused on any more purchases. I do have a Ludwig Black Beauty. I have two goals in my snare collection, one each (at least) of my favorite brands, and variety of size and materials. So far I range from a metal piccolo to a 8 inch curley maple. The reason it is on my to buy list is I'm pretty sure I learned on one is high school back in the 1970's. I really want something with the blue/olive Ludwig badge. My black beauty has the crown. I also want a Slingerland marching snare from that era. Quote This post edited for speling. My Sweetwater Gear Exchange Page

RABid
I bought it new from Sweetwater probably 6 years ago. I need to find a new host so that I can post pictures. It is the 5" standard lug version. This one. Ludwig Black Beauty at Sweetwater Quote This post edited for speling. wraub
Been playing on the Acro for a minute and I like it a lot. It's exactly what it is, and that's enough. I recently acquired another Ludwig snare that's been alternating places with the Acro, and I am very pleased with both, but the Acro has something special to it, for sure. Montunoman 2
It was my first snare that I got maybe in 1978?!? I still use it all the time, seriously just about every day.
