RABid
One new cymbal per year. Today I ordered the Zildjian 21 inch A Custom 20th Anniversary Ride Cymbal. Hope it arrives before the new year so I can order another next year. In truth, I've had this on my wish list for a few years now. Thought I would grab one before they are gone. I'm very picky about my rides. Don't like them too dark or with too much sustain. Quote This post edited for speling. KuruPrionz
If you paid for it this year, you can buy another one next year!!!! Quote It took a chunk of my life to get here and I am still not sure where "here" is.
Shamanczarek
Wait for a MF or GC 20% off sale. I bought a whole set of Zildjian A series last year, 14" New Beats, !6" Medium Crash, 20" Medium Ride, and 14" Fast Crash all in one shot for well under grand. Prices may go up in the new year. RABid
I like cymbal packs. Most of my cymbals were purchased a Gearfest as heavily discounted packs. Quote This post edited for speling. My Sweetwater Gear Exchange Page
Shamanczarek
I checked out the Zildjian A cymbal packs and although it seems like a good deal each one had a cymbal or two that I didn't really want so I went a la carte and picked each piece. I also checked out Paiste packs but I was looking for smaller sizes and Paiste tend to be larger. Zildjian A history goes back to the early 60s so has become an industry standard for rock and jazz. RABid
Have to say that I'm a bit disappointed with the 20th Anniversary ride. The ride sound is fine. A bit low but that is expected from a 21". My disappointment is the bell sound. Pretty anemic for a large cymble. I'll use an extender and mount a splash right above and never use the bell. wraub
I just got my cymbal for the year, probably, but it was a gift so technically I think I still have one coming if needed.
