Harp Heaven
I have three pieces for my next piano lessons, all written by Schostakovich. The tempo notation for one of the songs, is Ridicolosamente. It cannot be found on my metronome, and I don`t know where else to look. Do any of you know what it is? In bpm, of course. thoughtintruder
All I know is that Ridicolosamente means Ridiculously in italian ....if there is such a word. Something ridiculous I guess dunno wether its fast or slow tho....
ha ha faa_Q
It's one bpm behind Ludicrousamente. Seriously, it sounds pretty fast...
Harp Heaven
Darn... Ludicrous. Maybe it isn`t a fixed tempo? Its up to the player to decide what ludicrous means, no? I just made a midi file of it. Its really strange, schostakovich is a contemporary composer. If this is going to be fast, I`d better get my counterpoints straight! You can check it out here: Schostakovich Piano Piece [ 01-08-2002: Message edited by: Harp Heaven ]
Uh Clem
Sounded like this was going to be another health question for a second there...and not one we wanted to get into. Seriously though, do a search in Google and you'll find several pages of examples. Harp Heaven
Darn...Now I gotta blame my teacher for being russian. Ridicolosamente isn`t the tempo, its the name of the movement! The composer is Prokofiev, not Schostakovich. Better get things straight before I post. *shakes head*
ha ha faa_Q
Hmmm... isn't there a Ukranian composer named Sasquatchovich? Or is that a myth? :D
Jeff Leites
I've been looking for the term with Google, seems to mean that it sounds "jocular", or like laughing.
