AnotherScott
Part of me thinks I'll miss the deep editing capabilities of the VR09's VA synth, but then the rational part of me kicks in and reminds me that I haven't actually used it for years now, since I got the handful of sounds I needed dialed in. As an all-in-one board, it's a big step up from the VR I agree, YC is a big step up. And while the biggest advantage of the VR09 would be in its VA synth, Roland wants you to connect an iPad to edit it, and if you have the YC61, it's easy enough to just use that iPad to run any of a number of great VA synths and call up those sounds from your YC Live Sets. As has been mentioned, the iPad integrates with the YC particularly easily. The trickiest part might be where to physically place it. A Yamaha rep has actually taken part in some of the discussion of the rotary effect on ideascale. I feel reasonably confident that they will update it. I'm not expecting Vent quality, but hopefully it becomes at least widely unobjectionable. Quote Maybe this is the best place for a shameless plug! Our now not-so-new new video at https://youtu.be/3ZRC3b4p4EI is a 40 minute adaptation of T. S. Eliot's "Prufrock" - check it out! And hopefully I'll have something new here this year. ;-)
