TommyRude
hey guys... hoping folks can help me figure something out. In this recording there are two specific moments at 2:21/22 and 2:33/34, lasting all of about 1 sec each. The lead vocal is going, and then they blend in some type of effect and I'd love to know what it is. It sounds like an effect, but it might be just layered vocals ever so briefly and subtly mixed in. It has this shimmering spatial quality that is very cool. It happens during these phrases - "It hurts when you cry, but it's not that bad, ohh ohh...(here) The tears will all dry then you start to laugh, I know...(here)" [video:youtube] Some background... in pandemic world with lots of time on my hands, going down various rabbit holes. In this case, this song was playing as part of a Volunteers of America advertising campaign, I heard it during a commercial break and it caught my ear. Found the recording, really like the song, performance and production. Song80s
I also hear it around 1:00 and its more clear. Initially , I thought it was a steel guitar going thru FX you could message her on Facebook and get an answer Quote Why fit in, when you were born to stand out ? TommyRude
Thx Greg,,, I'm not hearing the same thing at 1:00, but definitely some great steel guitar throughout this song, blended and fading in and out, also with a shimmering quality Quote Some music I've recorded and played over the years with a few different bands Tommy Rude Soundcloud
Docbop
Reminds of me the midrangey slide guitar George Harrison would use a lot on his own material.
