Digital Performer help

HI all,

 

I'm about to get busy with a new composition project, and I'm doing my best to put together a template that makes life a breeze (comparatively!).

 

I'm moving certain VIs to V-Racks to save loading times, but only ones that I can send MIDI program changes to. Spectrsonics Trillian can do this, but I'm yet to figure it out with other VIs such as Arturia and Soniccouture that use Kontakt Player as their host.I had already done this in the past, but it's not reliable if I forget to write down which patch I'm using. Is there a better way of doing this? Surely I'm not the only one!

 

 

I'd appreciate any insights you might have.

I've no idea if it will be useful for you but Native Instruments also has a free program called Komplete Kontrol.

It hosts software from other vendors, has a simple to use MIDI control feature, etc.

 

Once I had it installed Kontakt Player would no longer install until recently. I think they had it integrated into the package but that is just a guess.

Anyway, I haven't spent much time with it at all since I am not much of a synth guy and I've got what I can use working in Fishman Triple Play for MIDI guitar.

 

To be honest, I downloaded it as part of an entry for a remix on metapop.com and was not able to get the results I was trying for.

It's further along now and of course I could just be an imbecile who missed something important.

 

Worth taking a look at least.

I don't know the answer to your question, but just FYI there's a MOTU forum at MOTUnation.com. As a DP user for nearly 20 years, I've often found very knowledgeable people and lots of great info there.
