TrancedelicBlues
I LOVE where I live now!! It's the coolest place ever... I'm living in rural Gilchrist County, Florida, and the nearest big town is Gainesville, which is more or less a cosmopolitan university town built in a big natural park. It's the creeks, you see. A whole webwork of them runs through Gainesville, and they are mostly on protected public land, with trails and waterways that run through residential neighborhoods. Gainesville was also named as a "town that rocks" in a recent Esquire magazine article... People here will just start up a friendly conversation with you in the supermarket or at a gas station or wherever... I love that!! There's no other place in Florida of which that is true... Gilchrist County itself is a wonderful place to live... It's only a 30 minute drive to Gainesville--or to the beautiful rural Gulf Coast, take your choice!! So how about it, people? Do you like where you live? If so, why?

Alndln
I used to like where I live(Long Island),but now it's an oversold nightmare.Sometimes I feel there are so many people here that the Island is going to sink(my dream come true).I'm currently scouting remote area's faaaar from here. Super 8
It's okay. It's got it's pluses and minuses. I wouldn't mind seeing a mountain or two. And, while I enjoy Spring and Fall, I still hate Winter. We're known for our great golf courses out here. I don't golf, but if you do, you might think that is pretty cool. Living here is probably like most placed.....it's pretty much what you make of it. offramp
Yes and no. I love the sunshine, the mountains, the snow, the summers, the lack of humidity; on the flip side, I think there's a peculiar ratio of sunshine and thin air that ferments a startling brand of stupidity. I've upped my standards; now, up yours.

Blue Strat
Not really. Traffic sucks, people aren't all that friendly, and the humidity sucks. On the up side, I'm moving back to Gastonia soon, so the traffic will improve. It's pretty much the same, except the people all suck and the humidity isn't very friendly. There's no nightlife to speak of in Gastonia, but Charlotte sucks too, either that or I'm just grumpy cause I never go out anywhere. BlueStrat a.k.a. deanmass
My island is cool, but trouble is I have to leave it to work, and the winters are too g-d long and cold. I'd go to NorCal if I could right now. The economy is tanking (again) here in the Detroit area as well. err...I mean....GO PISTONS!
Ed A.
Nope. Way too expensive (real estate, taxes, insurance), too much NY traffic and Indian casino traffic in the other direction. The strange thing is that it's too urban, but there's nothing interesting to do. Bridgeport is kind of an old factory city, where all the factories have closed. There isn't even a shopping mall in my city, I need to go to the surrounding towns for that. Also, there's no what I like to call "natural beauty" here, or Fairfield County in general. I like the coast of Maine much better and I plan to move there some time in the future. Another place I like is northern Arizona around where my sister lives in Sedona/Flagstaff, but I think I'd miss the ocean too much if I moved out there. Jeebus
Shitty traffic conditions seem to be a recurring theme here. Perhaps what your town needs is a MONORAIL! It's a well known fact that a MONORAIL can solve traffic congestion, pollution, and world hunger, among a host of other things. MONORAILS will be the travel method of the future. Don't be left out! Push for a MONORAIL in your town today! http://images.google.ca/images?q=tbn:k6-8mVczBHgJ:kansaspacific.mysitespace.com/lockedout.jpg MONORAIL! MONORAIL! MONORAIL! Gus Lozada
I do travel a lot. That means, My life happens to be in permanent movement. Then, I love this town. Very -VERY- quiet, some fun bars and discos, good places to do some shopping, it has an airport (5 minutes from home, isn't that great?) and lots of pretty women. Really. People is nice, compared to other cities I have lived at. I have lived where there are hurricanes, earthquakes, lots of violence, lots of traffic, active volcanoes... and here the wosrt thing is the high temperature un summer time, it's a desert. Air Conditioning and that's it. Yes, Torreon is a good place to live, if you have your own life made and happen to travel a lot and forget eventually it's a VERY quiet town Hey, CORONA beer was invented right here! cherri
I love where I live. It's a teeny town built around the local high school. We're in the national forest and we have deer walking through our side yard all the time. The town is so small that the first time I popped into the convenience store, the clerk asked me how I liked my new house and where were we playing next weekend? My kid applied for a job there, and she said to me, "But wasn't he hired at restaurant x?" She knew before I did! www.metalblues.com

henryrobinett
Not really, but it's home. I've lived here off and on my whole life. The people are very nice. Not a lot of culture though. Homes are affordable. Very racially balanced which is important to me. I have tried to escape many times but always, for one reason or another, keep coming back. Not the best pace for me as a jazz musician, but oh well. It's a very good place to raise a family which for now, is my biggest concern. I've lived in NYC, LA, San Francisco, Munich, London, Vienna all or extended periods. Sacramento is definitely NOT a big city. I do love big cities. But Sacramento has it's own weird charm. What can I say? I call it home. All the best, Henry Robinett
Monkey Mouse
New Jersey is almost the same thing now as Connecticut - as someone else has mentioned. But NJ has the best ghettos that the taxpayers can ask for.... every city is a dump - and we pay the property taxes to prove it. Of course real estate has gone through the roof due to NYC people moving to NJ too. Needless to say I have no shot to afford anything - and I might make over $85k this year. The open land of western NJ is disapperaing at a very quick pace - 10 years from now it will be gone. Climate isn't to my liking either - winters are too cold & long for me. So I am now planning to move to Florida in the next 3 years - Ft Lauderdale - Pompano area. Climate is to my liking and it is "urban enough" to keep me going. That's my plan. Shars
I live in a place called Walthamstow in East London and I hate it! Its on the outskirts of London and we have Epping Forest on our doorstep but the traffic and the building we have going on will see much of that vanish. Its where E17 the band came from (thast the zip code of the area) and thats about all there ever was ever going on with the bourough. Its about 2-3 miles away from the city of London and also the most run down areas of the UK are about 2 miles away in Hackney and Tower Hamletts. I hate it here and we are moving pretty soon so i hope its a good move and not worse. www.myspace.com/yacababy
