LiveMusic
Say, a touring act. Sometimes, they will introduce (usually the person on keys), "And this (name) on keys, our bandleader." What does a bandleader do for a touring act? I assume he arranges the songs and charts them but once that's done, anything ongoing? > > > [ Live! ] < < <

fantasticsound
NE-One hit it on the nosey! The bandleader also hires the other musicians. The artist generally wants little or nothing to do with hiring their band. If they have a problem with someone's playing, the bandleader usually fires the musician. Having a bandleader means the artist has little responsibility beyond singing, playing, and dealing with all the promotional aspects of touring that require their attention.
