Im really digging a short, daily podcast called Youll Hear It hosted by Peter Martin and Adam Manness. While it isnt centered specifically on piano, they provide some great advice and insight into jazz playing. From time to time they provide brief solo analysis, favorite records, artists, and a really fun conversation about jazz, and I thought others here might dig it as well.

I've been enjoying it since the first episode. I even make my wife listen sometimes when we're driving together and she likes it as well, even though some of the stuff is over her head. She's even said she feels like she knows them.

[To brag a little bit: Almost always when they "shout out to Joe" as they did in yesterday's episode on bebop, that's me!:laugh: ]

I had never heard that Hargrove track they discussed on today's episode (sadly, though I had heard of Hargrove, I didn't get around to him until now). That video and tune is amazing!

How much improvisation do you think is in that clip? Sounds like they're having a blast on the stage and just going where the atmosphere takes them.
Simply based on what Peter and Adam said on the podcast, this tune alone was different every time they saw him.
