Mine's sitting at $4,998.73. Utter waste of time I fear. Lots of useful stuff. Of course there are various synths and a clonewheel that I could add, but for what purpose in my case, I don't know.

- 1 Yamaha P-125 Digital Piano - Black, 1 Yamaha LP1 3-Pedal Unit - Black, and 1 Yamaha L125 Piano Stand - Black, for a friend who is too poor to afford a decent 88-note keyboard and therefore hasn't played for a long time, after an accident.

Now THAT's real GEAR PORN!!! What, no roll of roadie duct tape signed by Rick Wakeman's #1 gaffer? I feel like a poseur on this thread. There are a few things I *like* to have, but I have no serious needs. I laughed at the process, because while I'd certainly drop everything to marry a Prophet X, I *would* have to drop everything else, to some extent. I'm closer to room temperature than the days when I could do a sweaty hour-long set and not die. I need that time to work on my opera about the suicide rate among small dogs owned by divas. I've owned several Dave-synths, so I embrace his basic design sensibilities and even so, the CREATIVE learning curve on the X goes far beyond the mere parameter set.

I propose that we give Max added cred for thinking of his friend who has been without an instrument for a while. I've passed gear along for free or at reduced prices for the sake of the player. I think it adds to your good karma against that moment when you'll be offered an opportunity to land something juicy for yourself. It does seem to come back around, which is fascinating.

"You seem pretty calm about all that."
 "Well, inside, I'm screaming.

With this giveaway in mind, if you were looking to get a dual-manual Hammond clonewheel from the brands that Sweetwater carries, which would you pic?

Use case: Hammond Organ with bass pedals (Gospel). Other sounds would be nice, but not at all a primary concern.

Thanks for you input.

I'm thinking you should maybe start a new thread for this so more people see it. That said, I'd go with a Hammond SKX personally.

Former: Emu Proformance Plus & Mo'Phatt, Korg Krome 61, Roland Fantom XR & JV-1010, Yamaha MX61, Behringer CAT, Kurzweil PC4 (88)
