Don't know about D-5's but I know for certain that Trent Reznor used to smash DX 7s during shows in the mid to late 1990's. I actually sold him one just for this purpose. If Im not mistaken, I believe it was Iain Baker of the Group Jesus Jones. I seem to remember him talking about smashing ROLAND D-5s in the September 1991 Issue of KEYBOARD Magazine.
