So I'm happy to report that, with the help of Al Quinn, I was able to make a decision yesterday. Put down a deposit for a Mason and Hamlin aa (6'2") offered by the retailer in Long Island (Piano Tek).

Very exciting! Congratulations and may it bring you decades of joy. Theres nothing quite like a real acoustic piano beneath your fingers, especially when youve done your homework and have selected one that inspires you.

Acoustic: Shigeru Kawai SK-7 ~ Breedlove C2/R

MIDI: Kurzweil Forte ~ Sequential Prophet X ~ Yamaha CP88 ~ Expressive E Osmose

Electric: Schecter Solo Custom Exotic ~ Chapman MLB1 Signature Bass

Anyway, many thanks to Al for making the trip.

Cedar, you're very welcome and congratulations on your new piano -- it plays and sounds so beautiful. :)

It was great meeting you in person. I very much enjoyed your playing and having the opportunity to participate in the selection process.

Congrats, Cedar, and great that you got help from Al. I wish I had that kind of help when I was shopping. And the clips I've heard of him tell me that he'd be even better to hear in person.

What are you doing with the old piano? Trade in at that dealer or are you selling it yourself? Just curious.

Dealer had no interest in my piano (which oddly made me trust him more).

I posted an ad for the piano at various sites, but not expecting the quick action I want. I will likely donate the piano and take a deduction.
