Doerfler Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 So I'm happy to report that, with the help of Al Quinn, I was able to make a decision yesterday. Once again, the power of the forum shines through.
Lady Gaia Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 So I'm happy to report that, with the help of Al Quinn, I was able to make a decision yesterday. Put down a deposit for a Mason and Hamlin aa (6'2") offered by the retailer in Long Island (Piano Tek). Very exciting! Congratulations and may it bring you decades of joy. Theres nothing quite like a real acoustic piano beneath your fingers, especially when youve done your homework and have selected one that inspires you. CowboyNQ Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Congrats! Enjoy your beautiful new instrument. So cool that Al was able to assist you personally, too.
cedar Posted October 29, 2018 Author Posted October 29, 2018 Congrats! Enjoy your beautiful new instrument. So cool that Al was able to assist you personally, too. Plus I got a chance to hear Al play, which was a treat!
Dave Ferris Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Al who ? Seriously, glad it worked out for you. Having another player involved was a really good idea, especially someone that plays that well like Al. Congrats Cedar and many happy years with it. https://soundcloud.com/dave-ferris https://www.youtube.com/@daveferris2709 2005 NY Steinway D Yamaha AvantGrand N3X, CP88, P515
Al Quinn Posted October 29, 2018 Posted October 29, 2018 Anyway, many thanks to Al for making the trip. Cedar, you're very welcome and congratulations on your new piano -- it plays and sounds so beautiful. It was great meeting you in person. I very much enjoyed your playing and having the opportunity to participate in the selection process. https://alquinn.com
Six-string-man Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 Wow, that looks great cedar! Congratulations. Occasionally, do something nice for a total stranger. They'll wonder what the hell is going on!
Joe Muscara Posted October 30, 2018 Posted October 30, 2018 Congrats, Cedar, and great that you got help from Al. I wish I had that kind of help when I was shopping. And the clips I've heard of him tell me that he'd be even better to hear in person. What are you doing with the old piano? Trade in at that dealer or are you selling it yourself? Just curious. cedar Posted October 30, 2018 Author Posted October 30, 2018 Dealer had no interest in my piano (which oddly made me trust him more). I posted an ad for the piano at various sites, but not expecting the quick action I want. I will likely donate the piano and take a deduction.
