DanL
I'm working up a couple patches I need that use the vocoder. I followed the tips in the manual on how to set the audio in to the IFX bus where the vocoder effect is loaded, etc. I can get the mic to trigger the sounds. What I can't figure out is how to stop my voice from sounding thru the outputs as well. I have the effect set to Wet but I can still hear myself in the headphones. I don't have this problem with the FA08 vocoder. I'm sure I'm doing something wrong. Can someone run down their signal chain/settings for me? CEB or JDan? Any other K users? Thanks! J. Dan
Glad you got it figured out. Another tip: I had trouble with a few other things... 1) clipping the mic input 2) too sensitive in a loud band setting where the stage volume is bleeding the sound when I'm not singing 3)overall patch volume I'm not in front of my Kronos unfortunately I can't name the specific parameters, but I'll lay out the concept. First it helps to run a compressor on the vocal input with a boost and I believe the vocoder itself has a gate threshold. You have to take an initial stab then adjust it during sound check and then probably tweak it again multiple times for a live application with a loud band. Finally, if need be, add a preamp or other dynamics processing in your IFX chain after the vocoder to boost gain. Ed uses it a LOT more than me so he can probably offer better feedback.
