Jbon
I am planning a ram purchase, applicable to being used for Digital Audio Workstation. I do not know for certain if the extra $ is justified, in audio, for regards to RAM: "ECC" "Registered", and/or "Buffering", each to its own, are recommendable for use in an audio intensive pc Can someone comment ? http://www.nowhereradio.com/artists/?aid=3754/singles
Alndln
As far as registered ram(ECC)your better off with non-ECC registered unless your board requires ECC registered. As far as amount,I find 500mb is enough for most setups unless your plan on using a lot of softsynths, especially soft synth samplers that store samples in ram. Also I'm pretty sure Cubases freeze system strores renderings in ram as well, sso in those cases,1 gig should be fine. For best performance, find out if your board uses a dual memory system,in that case 2 sticks will be better than one.
