Jazz+
Any idea if a Gibson Les Paul Jr dogear P90 will drop in fit into a 2108 Epiphone Casino Coupe neck position? Dannyalcatraz
Not a clue. But I do know of builders who can make a P90 prickup that will, if need be. Sturgeon's 2nd Law, a.k.a. Scott Fraser
I can't see that a dogear P90 could ever be anything but the standard size & dimensions. As long as it's really a dogear. LP Jrs also come with soapbar P90s. Scott Fraser
Larryz
+1 They are pretty standard in size. You should be able to hold the replacement pup up against the current one and/or the hole and see if the mounting holes and the pup size lines up. If not you can always send it back to MF or wherever you buy it (check the return policy if buying it elswere). Take care, Larryz
Caevan O’Shite
Any idea if a Gibson Les Paul Jr dogear P90 will drop in fit into a 2108 Epiphone Casino Coupe neck position? Maybe, maybe not. If you're trying to fit a Gibson P-90 pickup into an Epiphone dog-ear cover, measure pole-piece spreads. Maybe 50mm for Gibsons (bridge-position?), maybe 47.5mm for some Epiphone neck-position; these figures lifted from a website for a pickup-maker, concerning pickup-fits for Gibson and Epiphone soap-bar and dog-ear covers. Jazz+
Is 48 vs 50 mm a problem? Caevan O’Shite
Is 48 vs 50 mm a problem? If you're trying to fit one pickup into the cover of another, it could be- the holes for the pole-pieces might not line up. Note that some of the Epiphone metal dog-ear covers are not very good for sound; plastic or nickle-silver (sometimes called "German Silver") are best, sonically- they're more 'magnetically transparent', if you will. If you're trying to put one entire pickup assembly, cover and all, into a different guitar, it might be little or no problem. Measure the spread between the mounting-screws for the dog-ears, and compare. A little difference would probably be manageable. Whether the strings and pole-pieces align satisfactorily enough might be another matter. Measure your guitar's string-spread.
