Philip Clark
I'm seeing more mention of YouTube videos siting studies in theory and technique on here lately. So I figured now might be a good time to start a thread collecting that knowledge. I'd love to see the resources that you guys go to for improving your playing and understanding of music. I see a lot of mention about Rick Beato's channel. What are some other of your favorites? Looking for answers? Maybe a fellow forumite knows of a vid that help. I-missRichardTee
Jazz ed: Maybe not all of them, but some BARRY HARRIS videos, are absolutely, of Platinum value. Jazz rhythm ed: Mike Longo is unique in the way he transfers what he learned from deep involvement with one of the dyad sources of be bop, Dizzy Gillespie. fjzingo
I use jazzadvice.com its a great resource for learning jazz. I also started watching Hal Galper on youtube, I also find his book forward motion to be really good. Speaking of books, I started to flip through Mark Levines Jazz piano book, I always find something useful there. Personally I found that video is a very slow medium for learning new stuff when compared to books. Of course you can see for example hand positions something you dont get in a book. The lecturers can off course be entertaining and remind you about a subject you read. Aimee Nolte is a good example, Anyhow I combine books, videos, practicing and live playing-perhaps I should take one or two piano lessons again to kick my but. And yeah, I went to a weeks jazzcamp this summer for old farts like myself, endless fun playing jazz all day for 7 days in a row. /Fred Cantaloop Soulfetch Soulbox

I figured your comment may be a bit tongue in cheek, but one thing here in Brazil most people are in dire need of is financial education. One thing is shortage of money, the other is making poor financial decisions all the time. And that includes a lot of my musician friends. Joe Muscara
Here's Peter Martin and Adam Maness' podcast on YT talking about YouTube videos that you might find interesting. Several of these I've never heard of. [video:youtube] "I'm so crazy, I don't know this is impossible!
