Tonysounds
Anybody in the US ever use Thomann for any purchases? Did you get hit with a VAT after the purchase? Hitting "Play" does NOT constitute live performance. -Me.
CEB
Yes. I have bought items from Thomann. I have never been hit with VAT. Shipping varies. Usually $40 or so. Takes about 2 weeks. I pick my items up at a local US Post Office center. "It doesn't have to be difficult to be cool" - Mitch Towne "A great musician can bring tears to your eyes!!! tfort
I've never bought from there, as the items I've wanted have been too heavy. In 2016, US customs changed their policy so as to not charge import duty on "de minimus" cost items, raising the limit from $200 to $800. If Thomann has a nexus/presence in your state (I'm pretty sure they don't here in NM) then you would still be subject to the import duty.
The Real MC
I just made a purchase from Thomann last week. I'm in the US, there was no VAT charged to me. We'll see how the package arrives.

Michael Wright
VAT should come off of your cart total when you enter the shipping address Tony. You may still have to pay duties/taxes upon receipt. http://www.michaelwwright.com https://www.facebook.com MPN Paetron https://www.patreon.com/musicplayernetwork

RABid
I've ordered some modular gear from them. Never hit with VAT. Buying Doepher from them and paying overseas shipping used to be cheaper than buying from USA stores. The hardest thing for me was getting a credit card to work for overseas purchasing. That causes a lot of security issues. This post edited for speling. My Sweetwater Gear Exchange Page
Joe Muscara
The hardest thing for me was getting a credit card to work for overseas purchasing. That causes a lot of security issues. And many (most?) charge fees for buying internationally. I was hit by that purchasing from a developer in Canada, of all places. "I'm so crazy, I don't know this is impossible! Synthaholic
The hardest thing for me was getting a credit card to work for overseas purchasing. That causes a lot of security issues. Ive had a Citibank MasterCard forever, and whenever I am antsy about a merchant I use their single-use credit card number that you can generate on their website. Its only good for that purchase and you never reveal your card number. Great security option. The fact there's a Highway To Hell and only a Stairway To Heaven says a lot about anticipated traffic numbers People only say "It's a free country" when they're doing something shitty-Demetri Martin
