Theo Verelst Posted July 7, 2018 Posted July 7, 2018 Quite a time ago I had a small company as a sideline, created as an alternative to free-lancing for acting as a software course leader (Unix course, long before Linux). My other activity in that company I had with someone else was to create a advanced librarian for DX sounds, which contained a lot of ideas which were new for the time. Lot's of the smart ideas like a search for patches by name functions and (a bit obvious) implementing (which was all my work) some form of assigning sounds to categories an with a good UI trying them out on the synthesizer were found back in workstations later on. I don't think some things should be patented or buried with non-disclosure, but making good money even with Open Source software should be made easier and more main line. T.
