Anyone Know Nero?

Recommended Posts

Hi all. I just got an external CD burner that has Nero Express as the software.

I find that I am having trouble writing to a CD-R.

I have been to the Nero site, not much help.

Anybody have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Peace,

I use Nero.

Please tell a little more about the problem(s).

Also:

How is the burner connected: USB, USB2, FW, SCSI?

What burner are you using?

What media?

I could never get Nero to work either. This was a while ago, so maybe it's changed.

I asked a friend if he could help, and he said "Nero sucks! Use this instead." I don't remember what the program was called, but it worked. I never touched Nero again.

These days, I just use the software that came with Windows to burn CD's....Roxio, I think.

Super 8

Mats-It is a Buslink device, not sure at the moment on the exact model.

Connection is USB-the burner is USB 2.0 but my PC is old USB.

I have tried a couple different brands of media so far.

What happens is that I try to make a data disc to back up files, and everything goes great until it doesn't. :D Seriously, I followed the onscreen prompts, all was well until the error message popped up.

The error report was 7 pages long, is this typical?

I am sorry I do not have the report or remember the specific error msg right now, I am at work.

I should be home in a bit, I will follow up then.

Thanks to all so far.

Peace,

1. Have you tried the "check writing speed" option?

2. Have you tried burning at lower speeds?

3. are you running other applications while you are burning?

Mats has good suggestions especially if the errors you are getting are something like "Buffer Underrun".

I use Nero and I like it but I never tried it with a USB burner. I started with internal IDE CDRW and now using internal IDE DVDRW.

Anyhoo, make sure you have the most recent driver for your burner. Also check Nero's site for the newest release of the version you have and update your software.

Another thing: connect the burner to the USB port on the computer with a fairly short cable (6 feet or less), avoid hubs and/or long USB cables.

OOPS! I was tryin' to fixx a misused word and meant to just edit not hit quote. with that disclaimer being said as it were kinda: ..

. I only wish to love something that will love me back., thats why I left my last wife.. ahahahah! sob...

I got NERO EXPRESS SIX and I "really like" it.

it has everting mon'!

it has a way cool wave lab you can fix stuff in , you can cross fade,, normalize all your tracks, it burns 'em and does all kinds of stuff plus you can do all your artwork and covers expertly and very easily..

this has ROXIO beat all to hail. plus it has VID stuff and all kinds of stuff I have'nt even used yet..

I swear by NERO SIX.. it has it all and some more too..

the ONLY thing I wish't i could do but am unable to figger out is: HOW DO I TAKE THE COVERS AND BOOKLETS AND THE ART WORK WHICH I've CREATED IN nero "OUT OF" nero AND INTO ANOTHER FILE FOR MOVING AND OR COPYIN'?

see, I wish to allow folkes to download the covers and cut them out theirselves.. that way when they download the entire collection they'll have the covers and all to go with it.

I thought of three different collections of ten tunes each.

call each one a work with it's own cover and whatnot.

folkes can download the collection of music or WORK; AND be able to put together a ceedee package they can look at as well. throw in lyrics and hey, hey! we'se rockin and a'rollin' anda strummin and a'strollin'!

The thing is, I have NO IDEA of how to do that. I keep hittin' brickwalls evertime I try to figger it oot. can it be done?

does anyone have an idea? about the data transfer?
