Copyright strike for classical piano recital, wtf?

Recommended Posts

I uploaded my classical piano performance of Arabesque (Claude Debussy 1888) to my YouTube channel and got the following copyright strike.

"Copyrighted content was found in your video.

Music composition

2:12 - 3:50 play match

Warner Chappell

Monetized by copyright owner"

It's a bummer that Warner Chappell will display ads on my video and get all the money.

But how can Debussy's composition from 1888 be under copyright?

Oh joy, another new upload, my recital of Franz Liszt - Liebestraum No. 3 Love Dream got a strike too!

Lovers Dreams - Opus 1

Music composition

0:00 - 1:12 play match

AdRev Publishing

Monetized by copyright owner

File a dispute "

Can anybody shed light on this?

We had someone do a live stream on FB from one of my Floyd band's rehearsals. It got flagged in 5 minutes by David Gilmour. I guess we were too accurate!
