Rippingtons - Curves Ahead - Brass Sounds

Does anyone know what keyboard / programs the keyboard is using on this track to play those Brass sounds? Pretty much all of the early Rippingtons songs use this patch. It sounds like a Jupiter 8 PCM Brass patch embellished with something else. I can't seem to emulate it.

I remember reading an interview with Russ Freeman in the old Roland Connect newsletter. I recall the D-50 being mentioned, as well as one or more of its little brothers (D-110 or D-20?). He also used Yamaha FM synths.

This might have been a couple of years before the release of Curves Ahead, more around the time of Tourist in Paradise.

Jazzmammal, thanks for that Video. The keyboard he is playing for the brass parts looks like a Roland RD-xxxxsomething at the 2:55 mark in the video. It's hard to make out; damn guitar players get all the video time!

The top keyboard above the Roland looks like a DX7 or like Reezekeys said, TX802.

I saw The Rippingtons many times around the time of that video (early 90's ) and they were definitely one of the best live bands I've ever seen. Simply amazing performances. Their Live In LA is still one of my favorite live recordings.

I totally agree. I saw them at the Beacon Theater in NYC. They had their original lineup. Just a killer show and very inspirational.
